- Yes you are legally alllowed to take one laptop for your use and this is clearly printed on the reverse of the customs form nowadays (so that you are not taken for a ride by the customs officials who may try to con and get money out of you). However, please check about carrying porn stuff, it make put you in risk.
As for adaptors, you should be able to find one if you know where to look, but if you are new around there, suggest you buy one from your home country (you do get one that is excluively for world travellers)
- ya if the have an outlet cuase when I went we bought converters and it worked
- Yes, I went a few years ago with some family and one of my family members brought their laptop. We had no trouble getting through security with it and the people we were visiting did had that thing, I have no idea what you call it, but I am guessing it is the uk plug you are referring to.
- I sure would take my laptop! they are handy and are right there so you will never get bored. you also have to realize that some way some how you will be able to plug your computer in to charge the battery. I would ask the hotel you are going to stay at what they say about the plug-ins im sure since tourists come they have to have something that is familiar to you. you also could probably purchase one online or through the computer company.
- u can take yr laptop.
go to staples/office depot/circuit city etc etc
there you will find travel adapters. you just need the adapter plug with 2 round thin lobes. no need for voltage conversion as laptops operate from 110V to 240V..basically anywhere in the world
- Yes dear, you can legitimately take your laptop to India. For converters, India has 220 electricity like most of the Europe, so same plug works. However, if you are from North America (US/Canada...) where 110 electricity is used you would require a converter which you can either shop in your own country with India related products or you can have one in India itself.
