Why in Indian Politics notorious (Gunda type) person can get the tickets as any election candidate?

- They are needed by all parties to win the election as you need money and muscle power. There fore no law can protect it as they only not come into politics once they are convicted by law which seldom happens and they get away on the plea that the matter is subjudice and they have not been convicted
- Hi Naveen,, If, suppose you don have proper legal document for some cause and you wana accomplish some work what will you do, may be you will do some illegal work done by some agent ,thats the root cause of Gunda type Politics
- Lack of knowledge among the voters. Otherwise how a tainted person will get elected. Every person in the society will do some corruption either it is for getting gas connection or to get ration card. so the elements living on corrupt practices (parasites) Will rule. We should not blame only politicians for this each of us are responsible. Unless we the people changes and get strengthened with knowledge and votes for the good of the society goondas and anti socials will rule us.

#1 the answer is poor Law enforement. even after a Legal Cluase that a person with criminal background can not stand as candidate in election, they still manage to get through.
#2 People don't realise their Duty to VOTE ! if we are all get responsible and do not vote for such candidates. the problem will be resolved.
#3 Poverty/Illiteracy - such people lure and exploit poor voter with money (& other means) and buy votes for them.
the issue is very complex and needs to be analysised from various angles...
