Why some countires becomes so good in some games.?
For example, South American countries are good in Soccer, Russia - Gymnastic, China - Badminton etc. Why these fortunes changes like Uruguay is no more that force in Soccer, India has lost its touch in Hockey. Similarly US does not have any Soccer tradition but is able to assemble a reasonable team in men's and a formidable team in Women's. Any explanation.

- People tend to go with what the people want. What is it that they enjoy the best and what is ingrained in their history.
- The Olympic team and or government can invest its money in youth programs (like the US), in better facilities, or in certain cases the people of a country have played that sport for generations and have devloped tradition. Another factor is the availiblity of sports leagues to improve talent (Champions League in Soccer, NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL etc).
