Why in India, eventhough soccer is very popular, no talented players are coming up?

eventhough football is very popular in india, and many many youngsters are playing it daily, Indian team is not at all talented, not a powerful team?

1. Cultural predisposition to cricket. Cricket is by far the most popular sport in India and Indian footballers have nowhere near the status of Dhoni or Pathan. Also, many families consider sports a "waste of time" and encourage kids to get into engg, medicine, law, etc.
2. because of lack of motivation and also Corruption.
3. football is not very popular, cricket is still the biggest sport in india at the moment, because cricket is so huge, all the attention is focused on cricket more money is spend on cricket. football in india is hardly played by the youngsters, the young people in india only play cricket. if no energy is brought towards something how do you expect it to grow. however india did have one talented footballer, his name was baichung bhutia, he played in england (not in the ELP), now he is back in india, playing in the east bengal club, he is regarded is india's best player.
4. Because, They don't have passion for it and it is not the national sport.
5. I though the most popular sport there was Cricket .
6. Why they can't find 11 decent players out of the population of 1.3 billion in China?
