Why don't people belive that a team like india can qualify for the world cup football?

- in india, there should not be politics in sports and also enough funding for the sports development. then only india can play in the world cup foot ball final match. either runner or winner.
- There is not that much of a strong following to the game there than would be first thought because in a country so huge and the infastructure not as strong, too it would be impossible. Also, cricket seems to be a bigger passion than football is.
- Unfortunately cricket is given way too much importance here. Tennis is finally picking up after the emergence of Sania Mirza. Hockey, which used to be popular is also given less importance these days. The media is partly to blame for that, since they idolise the cricketers & leave the players of others sports out...
Also, politics has crept into sports as well. Really good players might be dropped from the team, & the ones who have the influence & are thick with the selectors will find a way in...
Hopefully by the end of the next decade things should change (though personally I don't see it happen), & India atleast qualifies for the World Cup!
- b/c of there competition in asia, but believe me if they had players like that girl in Bend it like Beckham they would be good
- because india'a national sport is cricket, not soccer also there are many good teams in asia
- Because every time that they get a corner, they open a shop!
