Why is the sudden craze for football in india this time?

Indians just like to copy everyone else since they don`t have mind of their own I think.
it cannot be said that the craze is more only this time. the thirst for football is always there but it is this time we get the feel that the indians too like the game. with more and more people getting to know abt the world and enriching their knowledge on various fields, the quest has increased a bit. and more restaurants have a giant screen displays to help the people of that kind. so definitely in future the game might rule india more than cricket ;)
