Aint it the truth?
Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE INJAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet(MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE INMEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying ENGLISH JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV(MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in.. england

- Brilliant very good so a big thumbs up LMAO
- How did joe afford all that stuff if he didn't have a good paying job...?
Oh yes, he was on benefits, sold pirate CD's on the market, repaired a few cars, traded a bit on E bay, did some taxi driving and had a window cleaning round.... Probably earns more than me....
- Gets you thinking.
- Really interesting point.
Shes trying to say if England imports everything and doesnt incourage local markets then jobs become scarce.
He might not be young or uneducated, he may be older and had specific skills in a company that had to close due the goods being on the market cheeper from being imported. Or his company out sourced cheeper labour in India. Now that his specific skill that he spent 15 years perfecting is no longer needed in UK, he can not find a job.
(but still go to college folks)
- Makes you think doesn't it?
Never mind, he could apply for a job in a call centre.......gawd knows where their phones are made tho'!
not in UK That's for sure!
- whaaat?!
- why would some one need a JOB if he already has so much of electronic goods and vehicle
may be he cant pass his TIME
- Ain't that the truth
- hahaha.......interesting one...........lol
- Well, given that all the products are manufactured in other countries it means that England does not manufacture lots of products making the industry and low paying jobs scarce around England.
Since mr. Smith can't get a job, then he probably fits into the lower paid hard working category of men.
from which we can infer that Mr. Smith does not have a college education that would make him marketable around the higher paying jobs in England. See? go to college people or you'll end up like Mr. Smith.
- what are you trying to say?
- magic :) but true
- I like that...and its so true
- My next door neighbour
- Erm...interesting
