In countries like India is it great to get a player like sania mirza?

Here the stress is on "countries like India"... also on women in india

  1. I think it is.. because most indian girls dont get out of the house much... most stay inside there homes.. work a little and get married.. ... thats a tipical indian... then you have the rare girls who want 2 become something in life... they turn into doctors and bisness women sporting figures etc... and sonia is still working on achieving her goals... so yea... its great 2 have a player like her around.. it makes other girls want 2 do well etc..
  2. as a hyderabady I m proud say to sania is a v good player . and I cant fing a better player like her in asia. she is young and she need some time to get to know the game .lets wait and watch.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>love u sania<<<<<<<<<<<
  3. actually tennis in india was not much appreciated.we just used to have the 2 doubles male players leander paes and mahesh bhupathi.the emergence of sania mirza gave a new beginning to tennis in india.as she broke into the top 50 in quite a time she is famous.tennis in india has gained momentum due to sania mirza.but as she gained popularity she did the same mistake as all other indian sportsperson.she dedicated her talents to ads commercials and other ways of earnings.though many people in india like sania coz she's attractive or somethin like that and not many indian women show up their talent in sports like this except a few.
  4. so you think she's a great player, aren't you?well,I think she is a good player but not great coz she is inconsistent.she may be the best player in asia(or maybe not coz she just lost to a japanese player in 2 easy, straight sets at australian open).however, her participation has indeed promoted tennis in her country or around asia.she is also quite pretty but not as pretty as sharapova(although most of you may disagree.=p).as for the quality of player like her,I think they may play as good as her or better but until now,I don't think all of the players from asia are grand slam material.they still need to work very hard, but now they do show some improvement overall.
  5. .and also on the "quality of player" like sania mirza.
  6. I agree that women have been suppressed and all in India, but have you seen that of late? In India, Sonia Gandhi is the most powerful person at present, the highest paid Indian is a woman, girls have constantly been outsmarting boys in board exams etc. After all this, the rise of Sania Mirza isn't something extraordinary. Moreover, I do agree with 'music lover' that she is erratic. the joy of watching her forehand vanishes with the endless errors that she makes.
