Rahul Dravid has won India many matches for India both as a captain and batsmen. But still do you think he sometimes struggle by wasting too many balls.

- Yes u urself said that he won many many matches 4 india.its a fact that in ODIs hes a slow starter but at the end of most of his innings his strike rate would have risen to 80 and above.he paces his innings well.thats the greatness of the man.

He is struggling as a captain, finding it difficult to win test series away from home and throwing away an easy victory against England when he opted to field in the third test. No Indian cricket captain in history has been stupid enough to field first on a spinning pitch.

- Yeah Rahul Dravid is a good captain. But its too early to say if he's the best in the world or not. He hasn't yet played that many tests or ODIs as captain to rate him number one in the world.
- wel lets begin with the qualities of a captains I.e. wat we expect from a caption : -should be cool , supportive and have the courage to take some tough decisions also should set example to his team with his actions.
Is he cool = no questions to this definately yes.
supportive = he always supports his team mates.
have the courage = wel again the answer is yes , took some real tough decisions while captaincy.
setting an example = wel wat should I say here u may not be knowing this but let me tell you one thing that whenever india struggled for an opener in tests none of the captains may be ganguly sachin or azhar ever thought to open in test but this guy really did this and opened the innings in pakistan & also opened in onedayers against pak in DLF cup.
as a batsman : -
all that matters is wat ur team requires , not playing senselessly like afridi or other hitters. If his batting proves fruitfull for india, it hardly matters how he bats ,slowly or hits every ball to fence.

- obviously. Rahul is definitely an excellent captain. There is no doubt about it. Though I have to agree that he is a slow player, he is a fantastic player who knows how to position his players in a difficult situtation when the team is going to loose.

I just want to say u that they are playing their game. if India wining the game this the whole team effort which is lead by the captain. if u think he is wasting too many balls it is true but can see this that when ever he struggle for the team and play patiently ( u called it wasting of balls ) when India is in trouble India got good score in the end and many time India face the win. so I don't think he is wasting the balls but he is playing for his team.
